Bye-Bye White Linen

I’m so excited to post these pictures because they were taken by my new blogger/photographer friend Islandia. One of the amazing things I’ve learned through blogging is how strong the community is and that being a part of it is actually a great way to meet people and make new friends who have similar interests. Islandia is really into photography and offered to shoot some outfit pictures for me! I was so touched that she reached out, excited to meet her in real life, and to be shot by someone with some serious photo chops! Her enthusiasm for photography seems to be catching as I’ve found myself thnking a lot more about my own photography. So we met up for a drink and to take some shots. I get nervous when people shoot me for the first time, even when it’s my friends so I had to really try to not let that show. We wandered around Central Park and took some shots – it wasn’t quite as dark as it photographed as. It was fun, and I’m looking forward to more collaborating with Islandia, and hopefully learning some stuff about photography from her as well.

I really wanted to wear this white linen shirt one last time before fall weather actually kicks in. I’ve worn it a bunch of times already: over a sundress, with my leather skirt, over a crop top and tied at the waist. Becca has the same Madewell blouse – so you can check out her take on it here. Even though it’s long sleeved, to me, white linen is summer. So, I’ll be seeing you, shirt. These True Religions are one of my favorite pair of jeans – they fit well and are worn in perfectly. Also debuted my hideously ugly, old man aviators here – don’t know why I like them so much. They just have character.

I shot with Islandia again on Friday so I’m eagerly awaiting those shots from her! Kind of an up and down weekend for me, more to come on that, but I hope everyone else had a good one. I’ve got to haul myself off the couch now and get some groceries and cleaning done.
